Plastic rules to keep in mind
Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016 (as amended): carry bags of virgin or recycled plastic must be at least 120 microns (from 31 December 2022), and listed single-use plastic items have been banned across India since 1 July 2022.
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR): producers, importers and brand owners of plastic packaging register on the CPCB centralised EPR portal and file annual returns.
Tamil Nadu: the State has banned several use-and-throw plastic items since 1 January 2019. Check each customer order for carry bags against the Tamil Nadu rules before supplying.
TNPCB: each unit needs a valid Consent to Operate from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.
Reports
Choose a report. It follows the unit and month selected at the top. Click a column to sort, then export to Excel (CSV) or PDF.
Settings
Company and unit details, products and rates, raw materials, holidays, users, backups and the activity log.
User Manual
How to use every part of the Eco Pack factory dashboard, step by step. Values in highlighted text are your current settings.
No sections match your search.
1. Getting started
Signing in
Open the dashboard and tap your account: Owner or Production Manager.
Type your 4-digit PIN and press Sign in. After 5 wrong PINs the account is locked for 5 minutes.
On your first sign-in, change your PIN from the person icon (top right) → Change my PIN. The dashboard reminds you until you do.
If nobody touches the screen for minutes you are signed out automatically.
Choosing the unit and month
The bar under the header has two switches that apply to the whole dashboard:
Unit:Both Units, Porur (Arcot Road) or Thirumazhisai. Production, machines, orders, attendance and reports show only that unit.
Month: the month shown in production, the monthly calendar, payroll and reports. Use the arrows or the list.
Who can do what
The Owner / Director can do everything. Everyone else sees only what the Owner has ticked for them in Settings → Users & Access:
Units they can see: Porur, Thirumazhisai or both. A Thirumazhisai supervisor, for example, never sees Porur's staff or machines.
Sections on their dashboard: Dashboard, Production, Inventory, Orders, Machines, Quality, Attendance, Payroll, Employees, Reports and Settings. Sections not ticked are hidden.
What they can do: for example record production, mark attendance, dispatch orders, record payments, see salaries, pay salaries or delete records. Without an action ticked, they can look but not change.
To add someone: Settings → Users & Access → Add User, enter the name and a 4-digit PIN, pick a starting point (Production Manager, Unit Supervisor or Accounts), tick or untick anything, then Save User. Use Edit access later to change it, or untick Account active to stop someone signing in.
2. Dashboard
Units at a glance: for Porur and Thirumazhisai, today's attendance, kg made, machines running and staff not yet marked, with a button to mark that unit's attendance.
Figures for the month: today's output, output this month and scrap %, sales, open orders, receivables, raw-material stock value, machines running and present today.
Needs Attention: breakdowns, machines due for service, materials below reorder level, late orders, orders ready to dispatch, overdue customer payments, unmarked attendance, unpaid salaries, QC failures, licences expiring and the backup reminder. Each has a button that takes you straight there.
Charts: daily production for 30 days, product mix, sales by month and machine utilisation. Below them: deliveries due and days of raw material left.
3. Production
Press Record Production (on the dashboard or the Production tab).
Choose the date, shift, machine and product, then enter the good output (kg for film and bags, pieces for moulded items), scrap in kg, machine hours and operator.
The box underneath shows the raw material that will be used (output + scrap) for each granule, and what is in stock.
Press Save Production. The finished goods go into stock and the granules come out of stores.
The system stops: a future date, two entries for the same machine and shift, production on a machine with an open breakdown, and production when there is not enough raw material in stores.
Each entry gets a batch number (for example B2610-0123). Use QC on a row to record a quality check for that batch.
4. Inventory and costing
Inventory has five tabs: Stock Summary, Stores Ledger, Product Costing, Reorder Planner and Purchases & Adjustments.
Valuation: raw material is valued at weighted average or FIFO cost (Settings → Costing & Stock). Every issue to production is charged at that cost. Finished goods are carried at the lower of production cost and sale rate (AS-2).
Stores Ledger: for the month, opening + receipts − issues ± adjustments = closing, in kg and ₹. Ledger shows each entry with the running balance.
Product Costing: cost per kg or piece = material issued − scrap recovered + machine hours × machine hour rate. It shows the margin against the sale rate, so loss-making products stand out.
Reorder Planner: reorder level = daily use × (lead time + safety days); EOQ is the most economical quantity to order; ABC class shows which materials take most of the money. Order opens a purchase with the suggested quantity filled in.
Raw material stores (shared by both units): LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, HM-HDPE, PP, reprocessed granules and masterbatch. Each shows stock, reorder level, use this month and days of cover.
Record Purchase when material arrives: date, material, kg, rate, supplier and bill number.
Finished goods shows stock, the quantity booked on open orders and the free stock.
Stock Adjustment corrects stock after a physical count or writes off damaged stock. A reason is required.
5. Orders, dispatch and invoices
Quick order (top of the page): choose the customer and product, type the quantity, check the rate (it fills in from that customer's last order) and press Place Order. If the quantity is already in stock, Place & Dispatch does both in one go.
Every order shows its next step as one button: Start Production → Mark Ready (offered straight away when stock is available) → Dispatch → Receive Payment. The dots show how far it has got.
Dispatch: the vehicle used last time for that customer is filled in. The invoice number (EP/26-27/0001 and so on) is created and the tax invoice PDF downloads. Goods leave stock.
The pipeline cards (Pending, In production, Ready, Dispatched, Payment due) show counts and values; click one to see just those orders.
Tick several orders to Mark Ready or Dispatch Together on one vehicle. Repeat copies an old order into Quick order; New order on a customer row starts one for them.
GST is 18%: CGST 9% + SGST 9% for Tamil Nadu customers and IGST 18% for other states. An invoice is overdue once the customer's credit days have passed.
6. Machines and maintenance
Our Machines lists every machine saved, by unit: code, name, type, what it makes, capacity, make/model, year and status. Click a machine for its full details and history. Add Machine adds a new one.
Machine Status has one card per machine. The coloured bar says Working normally (green), Not used today (grey) or Stopped – needs repair (red). The card shows how much of the shift time it was used, what it made and how long it was stopped this month, and when the next service is due.
1. Report Breakdown when a machine stops. It shows as stopped and no production can be entered on it.
2. Mark as Repaired when it is fixed: enter the production hours lost, the cost and what was done.
3. Service Done after routine maintenance. The next service is due after the machine's service interval (set with Edit).
Repair & Service History lists everything, with filters for one machine or for breakdowns or services only.
7. Quality and compliance
New QC Check: choose the batch, enter the measured thickness, GSM or piece weight (average of at least 5 readings) and whether the seal or finish is OK.
The result is worked out automatically from the product's target and tolerance. A shopping bag below 120 microns always fails.
Licences & Compliance: TNPCB consent for each unit, EPR registration, factory licences, fire certificate and others. Enter the real numbers and dates; anything expiring within 60 days appears on the dashboard.
8. Attendance
Always choose the unit first. In Attendance & Payroll → Attendance, the yellow bar says Marking attendance for: with Porur Unit and Thirumazhisai Unit. Only that unit's employees are shown in the register, weekly log and calendar.

Daily Attendance Register (with times)
The register opens on today. Use the arrows or the date box for another day.
For each employee, check the shift, then enter the check-in and check-out times. The status changes to Present by itself.
Add Permission minutes for an approved short absence, or tick On Duty for official work outside the factory.
Worked hours, late arrival, early leaving and overtime are worked out as you type, including the night shift that ends the next morning.
Press Save Register. On today's date, Mark everyone unmarked as Present fills the rest in one click.
The register refuses contradictions, for example check-in times for someone marked Absent or on a Weekly Off.
Weekly log
Click any day to choose a status from a pop-up. The pop-up also shows the day's times and has a link to enter times in the register.
Monthly calendar (quick marking)
Pick a status (or press P, H, A, O, W or C to clear), then click or drag across days.
Click a date to mark everyone in the unit for that day; a gold holiday date gives holiday options.
Click a name to fill that person's blank days up to today. Right-click (or long-press) any day for all options.
Fill unmarked days and Unmarked s → Weekly Off speed up month-end. Undo (or Ctrl/⌘ + Z) reverses the last change.
A lock beside a name means that month's salary is paid, so its attendance can't be changed. To correct it, the Owner presses Undo on that payroll row first.
9. Payroll and payslips
Open Attendance & Payroll → Payroll, choose the unit and the month (top bar).
Check the table. A warning shows any days not marked.
Owner: press Pay All Pending (or Pay on one row), enter the date, mode and reference, then Confirm Payment. Salaries can be paid once the month is over.
Download payslips with Payslip (or Preview before payment).
How salary is worked out
Paid days = days in the month − absent days − the half-day cut.
Earned salary = monthly salary × paid days ÷ days in the month. Basic is 50%, HRA 20% and the rest other allowances.
Overtime = hourly wage × overtime hours × . Hourly wage = monthly salary ÷ days in the month ÷ hours. Only overtime of minutes or more in a day counts.
Weekly-off and holiday work: .
PF: 12% of basic (on basic up to ₹15,000) from the employee, and the same from the company.
ESI: 0.75% from the employee and 3.25% from the company, for monthly salary up to ₹21,000.
Professional tax: the Tamil Nadu half-yearly slab, spread evenly over the months.
10. Employees
+ Add Employee: ID, name, unit (office), department, designation, shift, mobile, joining date, salary, UAN, bank account and whether PF and ESI apply.
The unit decides which attendance sheet and payroll the employee appears in. Changing it transfers the employee; their past attendance stays with them.
When someone leaves, set the status to Left / Resigned with the last working day. They stop appearing after that day; their records stay for reports.
11. Reports
Open Reports and choose a report. It follows the unit and month at the top.
Type in the search box to narrow it, and click a column heading to sort. Totals are at the bottom.
Press Excel (CSV) or PDF to download it.
Reports: Production Register, Production Summary, Machine Utilisation & Downtime, Raw Material Stock, Finished Goods Stock, Purchase Register, Sales / GST Register, Receivables, Daily Register (check-in / out), Attendance Summary, Salary Register (Owner) and Quality Check Report.
12. Settings
Company & Units: name, address, GSTIN, bank and signatory printed on invoices and payslips, and each unit's name and address.
Attendance Rules: shift names, start and end times and grace minutes; the weekly-off day; half-day deduction; whether blank days are paid; pay for working on an off day or holiday; overtime rate, minimum and working hours per day. Changes apply to months not yet paid.
Products & Rates and Raw Materials: sale rates, reorder levels and standard purchase rates.
Holidays: the Tamil Nadu list; add next year's dates when announced.
Users & Access: add users, tick which units, sections and actions each person gets, set passwords and disable accounts. Activity Log: every important action with the user and time.
13. Backups and data safety
Important: all records are saved in the browser on the device you use. Another computer will not see them, and clearing the browser's data deletes them.
Go to Settings → Backup & Data and press Download Backup at least once a week (the dashboard reminds you after 7 days).
Keep the file somewhere safe, for example Google Drive.
To move to another computer, or to recover, choose the file under Restore from a backup (Owner only).
To start with real data, Clear Records removes the sample records but keeps the company, units, products, machines and users.
14. Daily and month-end checklist
Every day
Mark attendance for both units (dashboard → Mark Porur / Thirumazhisai attendance).
Record each shift's production and any purchases received.
Dispatch ready orders and record payments received.
Report breakdowns as they happen; close them when repaired.
At month-end
Make sure every day is marked in both units (Needs Attention shows gaps).
Check the Payroll tab for each unit, then pay salaries and download payslips.
Download the Sales / GST Register and Purchase Register for the accountant.
Download a backup.
15. Questions and problems
I can't change attendance for a day.
That month's salary is paid (look for the lock), or the date is in the future. The Owner can undo the payment in Payroll.
I can't record production on a machine.
It has an open breakdown. Close it in Machines, or there is not enough raw material: record the purchase first.
An order can't be dispatched.
There is not enough finished stock. Record the production first.
Overtime is not showing in salary.
Overtime comes from check-in and check-out times in the daily register, and only counts when it is at least the minimum set in Attendance Rules.
I forgot my PIN.
Ask the Owner to set a new PIN in Settings → Users & Access. If the Owner's PIN is forgotten, contact the developer (details at the bottom of the page).
The data is missing on another computer.
Data lives in each browser. Restore your latest backup on that computer.
The page looks like an old version.
Reload without the cache: ⌘ + Shift + R on a Mac, Ctrl + Shift + R on Windows.
